Here is a great article on breathing while presenting, by Nick Morgan.  It also contains great advice on tuning into your most effective tone of voice.public-speaking-firstpoint

An interesting note to add is that despite popular belief, a big, deep and broad voice is not necessarily ideal for public speaking, at least not for business presentations. As much as I enjoy Leonard Cohen and James Earl Jones, I doubt that they could get a crowd excited while presenting new concepts. Anthony Robbins excels at this, with a voice that is, to say the least, quite particular.

Òh; don’t be afraid of the word “Nasal”. Think of rock and roll – the most famous singers all had a very particular voice, unlike anyone before; Robert Plant, Steven Tyler, Axl Rose, Mick Jagger, Chris Cornell…

Practice makes perfect; get up there!
